Dental Implants

Are missing teeth making chewing, speaking, and performing daily activities challenging?

Restore your smile to health with dental implant treatment.

Green Pond Dental in Rockaway and Jackson, NJ, helps patients restore the look and function of their smile.

WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants are titanium screws placed in the jaw to act as prosthetic tooth roots. These implants securely hold restorations in place and fill in any gaps in your smile from missing teeth.

The implant is a titanium screw that's inserted into the jaw. An abutment piece helps connect the implant and the restoration to restore the missing tooth in its entirety.

BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dr. Bracha Lubart highly recommends dental implants for patients with missing teeth because of the following benefits the treatment affords:

Restore Function

Missing teeth can interfere with your everyday life. They can make eating, speaking, and performing regular activities a challenge. Dental implants restore function in your mouth, allowing you to get more out of life. In turn, this freedom can have positive effects on your overall self-esteem.

Provide Stability

Dental implants can provide stability for several restorations, including a dental crown, bridge, or denture. Traditional dentures can slip out of place while you eat and speak throughout the day, but implant-supported dentures stay in place just like natural teeth.

Long-Lasting

Dental implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth. The implant screw can last around 25 years or longer when the patient attends regular dental checkups and properly cares for their oral health. The restoration will need to be replaced sooner, but the implant screw does not.

Dental Implants Are the Only Way

TO PREVENT JAW ATROPHY AFTER TOOTH LOSS

The jawbone needs natural tooth root stimulation to stay strong and healthy and avoid receding. When you lose a tooth, your jawbone loses that necessary stimulation. Dental implants are the only dental treatment to prevent jawbone atrophy after losing a tooth. The implant acts as a prosthetic tooth root, giving your jawbone the much-needed stimulation.

WHAT CONCERNS CAN

DENTAL IMPLANTS TREAT?

MISSING TEETH

Whether you're missing one or several natural teeth, implants and a restoration, such as a dental crown, bridge, or denture, can restore the look and function of your smile.

SEVERE TOOTH DECAY

Our dentist will try to save your tooth through a root canal and other restorative measures. However, extraction and an implant may be the best option if your tooth decay is too severe.

DENTAL TRAUMA

While a dental crown can typically restore a chipped tooth, extraction and a dental implant is the best form of treatment for teeth that have been severely damaged beyond the surface.

CANDIDATES FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dr. Lubart encourages her patients with missing and severely damaged teeth to consider implants because of the positive effects they can bring to the patient. Everyone can be a dental implant candidate. Dental implants help preserve the following:

GOOD ORAL HEALTH

Our dental office offers periodontal cleanings, root canal treatments, and extractions to help maintain your natural dentition prior to receiving dental implants.

GOOD OVERALL HEALTH

If you have pre existing medical conditions, coordination with your medical provider is taken care of prior to placing dental implants.

GOOD JAWBONE DENSITY

If your jawbone has receded from lack of stimulation, our dentist can rebuild your bone density through bone grafts or a sinus lift prior to placement of dental implant.

RESTORATION

1

Planning the Surgery

To create an accurate picture of the structure of your teeth and surrounding soft tissues and nerves, we use a CT scanner to create a full 3D X-ray. From here, Dr. Lubart will plan the placement of your implants.

3

Final Dentistry Visit

You'll wear a temporary crown and abutment piece for a few months as your implant fuses to your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. Once this process is complete, you'll join us in the office one last time to receive your permanent restoration.

2

Placing the Implant

When it comes time to place your implants, Dr. Lubart will use advanced guided surgery technology to place them accurately. After the implants are placed, your dentist will attach small connector parts called abutments. The abutments act as the point of connection between the titanium post and the prosthetic tooth. Then we will close the incisions with stitches or sutures. In many cases, your dentist will secure a temporary restoration before you leave this appointment.

Clinical trials found that single implant immediate and delayed temporization yielded similar successful results for patients.

RESTORATIONS

THAT CAN HELP COMPLETE YOUR SMILE

Our Rockaway and Jackson, NJ, practices offer restorations that blend in with your surrounding teeth for restored oral health and a spectacular smile:

Dental Crowns

Capping a damaged or decayed tooth with a dental crown reduces the risk of further damage and restores appearance and function. We create custom crowns designed to deliver optimal durability and sport a natural appearance. A crown can also be supported by a dental implant to replace a missing tooth.

Dentures

Partial and full dentures can be used to treat multiple areas of tooth loss or all missing teeth along a dental arch. These prosthetics also work to boost your self-esteem and allow you to eat and speak with confidence. We can craft implant-supported dentures that are firmly fixed in your mouth, eliminating the possibility of them slipping out.

Bridges

Dental bridges can replace up to three missing teeth in a row. Bridges can be supported by crowned abutment teeth or dental implants on both sides of the gap in your smile. Like crowns, our bridges are made with durability in mind.

Dental Implants

Dental implants act as anchors in the jaw that support natural-looking restorations to replace missing teeth. They are durable solutions that can last for the rest of your life with proper care.

OUR SAME-DAY TECHNOLOGY

HELPS YOU SMILE FASTER

At our Rockaway and Jackson offices, patients can walk out of the appointment with a new set of teeth in just one visit. We're able to accomplish this using guided implant surgery. This method helps us not only place the implants sooner so you can leave with a new smile but it also allows us to perform dental implant surgery more efficiently, precisely, and accurately. Here's the process:
